The Waste Hierarchy
The standard rate of landfill is £40 per tonne from April 2009 increasing by £8 per year until at least 2013. There is then a gate fee on top of this, according to WRAP this can be between £11-£40 per tonne. With landfill gate fees being higher in Wales and the South of England.
